Share Love, Share Lent
2021 Collection for Development & Peace

Greetings Parishioners,

We wish to inform you about this year's Share Lent campaign and how we will proceed with our annual collection for Caritas Canada - Development and Peace.

The campaign for this year is a very simple message "Share Love, Share Lent." As always, Share Lent focuses on issues of international solidarity and invites us to practice alms-giving, by donating to the special collection for Development and Peace. The collection helps meet the needs of some of our poorest brothers and sisters through nearly 100 projects in 30 countries of the global south. "Share Love, Share Lent" is inspired by the message of love and social fraternity outlined in Pope Francis' encyclical, Fratelli Tutti. Now, more than ever, we must respond to the call of solidarity and love of neighbour.

Beginning this weekend, Share Lent envelopes will be available in the foyer. As per our tradition, we will open up our Share Lent collection on Palm Sunday and we will keep this collection open for several weeks throughout the Easter season. We ask parishioners to place their donation envelopes in the collection basket (with the regular collection) on their way into/out of Mass. As always, we encourage all cheques to be made payable to St. Kevin Parish with the memo line reading Share Lent Collection. For those not attending Mass in person who still wish to donate, we ask that cheques be mailed or dropped into our mail slot following the same instructions. Cash donations can also be put through our mail slot. For those mailing in or dropping off, you do not need to include one of our Share Lent envelopes so long as you use an envelope of choice clearly marking it as Share Lent Collection or again, indicating so on the cheque itself.

We realize this year has been financially straining on so many of our parishioners and families. Please only give as you are able and we are so grateful for all of your donations.

With great appreciation,
The Parish Team
